The overall order in which PAYD Pro PlusTM applies discounts is as follows:
EXAMPLE: A product with a retail price of $50.00 is on promotion at a $5.00 discount. The product is also part of a preferred customer pricing group with a discount of 20%. The product is added to a sale transacted for a preferred customer with the following result: (1) the product's retail price is discounted by $5.00 to $45.00, and (2) the product's sale price ($45.00) is discounted by 20% ($9.00), resulting in a new sale price of $36.00. A further discount of $6.00 is then applied to the product for this particular sale, further reducing the sale price to $30.00. Finally, a 10% discount ($3.00) is applied to the entire sale transaction, resulting in a final sale price of $27.00.
You have the option of disabling pricing group discounts applicable to products on promotion (if any). You can set the option (enable/disable) as part of a promotion's record when adding or editing it (see Adding a New Promotion and Editing a Promotion).
EXAMPLE: As in the example above, a product with a retail price of $50.00 is on promotion at a $5.00 discount. The product is also part of a preferred customer pricing group with a discount of 20%. In this case, however, the promotion is set up so that pricing group discounts applicable to promotion products are disabled. Even though the sale is transacted for a preferred customer, the pricing group discount is not applied, resulting in a sale price (before product and transaction discounts) of only $45.00. The product discount of $6.00 then reduces the sale price to $39.00, which is further reduced to $35.10 by the application of the 10% transaction discount ($3.90).
You can use the sale discount function to transact a $0.00 sale by applying a discount of 100%. However, you can only accept cash as the payment type. Items added to a $0.00 are considered "sold" and therefore affect inventory counts as normal. To track $0.00 sales, you can use the PAYD Administration Sales report.
If a discount applies to a partial quantity of a product, separate entries are displayed on the POS view to reflect the different price points applicable to the product.
Discounts created in the PAYD Pro Plus In-Store solution can also be used for processing transactions on the Mobile app. See Applying Discounts for more information.
The product discount partial quantity option enables you to offer promotions such as "buy one get one free" and "buy one get the second one half off."
EXAMPLE: To set up a "buy one get one free" promotion, add the product to the sale and set the quantity to 2. On the Product Details Discount tab, set Discount type to % Percent, enter 100 in the Discount value textbox, select the Qty radio button under Discount applies to and enter 1 in the adjacent quantity textbox.
