Cashing in is the process of entering note and coin counts to set up the starting cash register totals on the POS. After you do a Cash-In, the total is automatically updated with each cash, cheque and gift card transaction performed on the POS until you do a Cash-Out.
Cashing out is the process of counting cash, cheques and gift cards in the POS's cash register to establish actual ending totals in order to reconcile and balance them with the ending totals for the POS provided as part of the Cash-Out. You should typically cash out at the end of a shift or at the end of the day before the Batch Close is processed.
NOTE: If you are operating the PAYD Pro PlusTM In-Store Solution in a multi-lane environment, Cash-Ins and Cash-Outs pertain only to the POS in use.
NOTE: If you are using the PAYD Pro Plus Mobile Solution, you can Cash-In on the tablet as well. Refer to Cashing In for more information.
