Correcting Transactions

Sometimes transactions need to be corrected, and the system provides two correction methods: Void and Return. You can access the Void and Return functionality by clicking the Void/Return button on the Transactions button panel. Voiding cancels a transaction completely. Return can be a partial cancellation; you can return one or more items for refund or exchange.  

NOTE: The Void functionality is not available in the PAYD Pro PlusTM Mobile Solution. If Mobile App users wish to void a transaction, they will need to perform this task using the PAYD Pro Plus In-Store Solution POS view.

The scenarios for using these methods differ, Refer to the chart below to determine when to void and when to return.

Perform a Void when:
Perform a Return when:
  • The transaction was rung in wrong and needs to be completely cancelled.

  • The transaction was rung in more than once by mistake.

  • The transaction you wish to correct was performed in a batch that has now been closed.

  • The customer is returning one or more items for a refund.

  • The customer is returning one or more items for an exchange.

  • The customer is returning one or more items for store credit.
